Disgraced OneCoin Lawyer Mark Scott Branded ‘Dishonest and Manipulative’ Amid Fresh Revelations
Good morning, investors.
Today brings yet another chapter in the ever-unfolding saga of OneCoin one of the world’s most notorious cryptocurrency scams.
And this time, it centres on former OneCoin lawyer Mark Scott, who has found himself the subject of scathing criticism following the denial of his appeal by US courts last week.
Scott, once a close confidant of fugitive crypto queen Ruja Ignatova, had been seeking to overturn his conviction on charges of money laundering and bank fraud.
Instead, the courts upheld the decision, and Scott has been returned to custody.
But the story doesn’t end there.
Crypto Community Figures Speak Out
In the wake of his failed appeal, members of the cryptocurrency community have come forward with blistering personal accounts of Scott’s behaviour.
A personality known as Karma led the charge in an online exchange among blockchain enthusiasts and legal observers.
“My experience with Mark Scott has been extremely disappointing,” Karma claimed. “I have found him to be dishonest, manipulative and untrustworthy someone who has taken advantage of others’ trust for personal gain.”
Scott’s role in the OneCoin scandal was far from peripheral.
Trusted by Ruja Ignatova herself, he was instrumental in persuading various governments and financial institutions to view OneCoin as a legitimate financial product.
Notably, Scott and Duncan Arthur, another former OneCoin insider, are said to have travelled to Uganda to meet with officials from the Bank of Uganda in a bid to convince them of OneCoin’s legitimacy.
Allegations of Deeper Involvement
Karma’s accusations didn’t stop with Scott alone. They also implicated his wife, a figure hitherto unknown in public accounts of the scandal.
“He stole back in the days and knows how to manipulate the legal system. His wife Lidia isn’t better than him. She is as much involved in this as he is,” Karma added.
At present, the extent of Lidia Scott’s alleged involvement in OneCoin’s operations remains unconfirmed by official sources.
However, these claims suggest there may be undisclosed chapters in the already murky OneCoin narrative.
Even Scott’s personal life became a point of intrigue. According to Karma, Scott employed security at his own wedding an unusual precaution that, in their words, “only mafia bosses and crooks” typically require.”
OneCoin Lawyer Mark Scott: Duncan Arthur Adds Fuel to the Fire
Duncan Arthur, the former founder of DealShaker a platform affiliated with OneCoin also weighed in.
Arthur revealed that Scott and his legal team allegedly expected to be easy to cover legal costs to gather exonerating testimony, a move Arthur described as both audacious and naive.
“When Scott landed in serious trouble, he or his lawyers expected to pay the few hundred pounds it would take for an English solicitor to record a series of apostilled statements that probably would have gotten him off,” Arthur recounted.
Arthur suggested that Scott underestimated the gravity of the US charges against him, believing them to be just another minor legal hurdle to overcome.
“Scott is absolutely guilty,” Arthur concluded, “but he wouldn’t be in this position if he had a set of lawyers who knew what they were doing. He’s an unpleasant person, and he still has to explain what he was doing in London with Ruja and Krasimir Ravadon at the Ravenr offices.”

OneCoin Lawyer Mark Scott: A Pattern of Manipulation and Control
Further testimony from a commentator identified as Jack Black painted Scott as a controlling and frugal businessman.
“I had the unfortunate displeasure of meeting Scott,” Black claimed. “He was very stingy with business dealings and nickel-and-dimed those who would be in businesses he was investing in — all while living a high-class life, apparently funded by money from the OneCoin scam. Couldn’t be happier about the outcome he’s facing now.”
A Story That Refuses to Fade
What emerges from these accounts is a portrait of a man deeply embedded in the inner workings of OneCoin not just as a legal advisor, but as a key architect of its international strategy.
With Ruja Ignatova still at large and Scott behind bars, it appears that more revelations about OneCoin’s inner circle are yet to surface.
The cryptocurrency world continues to watch this case with fascination, as insiders gradually break their silence, offering a rare glimpse into the personal dealings and betrayals that fuelled one of the biggest financial scams of the modern era.
As always, we’ll be following this story closely.
