A moment of unexpected tension has caught the attention of the crypto community following the recent release of Lie to Me , a Norwegian documentary now available on YouTube that investigates the infamous OneCoin cryptocurrency scam.

In a scene that’s sparked considerable debate, renowned Norwegian blockchain developer Bjorn Bjercke pointedly declined to shake hands with Duncan Arthur, a former insider of the OneCoin operation and DealShaker platform founder.

This seemingly simple gesture or rather, refusal has triggered questions about trust, credibility, and the lingering bitterness among those once entangled in the OneCoin affair.

A Tense Encounter That Raised Eyebrows

For viewers unfamiliar with the background, Lie to Me chronicles the rise and fall of OneCoin, once touted as the next big thing in cryptocurrency but later exposed as one of the largest financial scams in modern history.

Both Bjorn and Duncan feature prominently in the documentary due to their respective roles in either challenging or operating within the organization.

During one of their on-camera meetings, Bjorn Bjercke visibly rejected Duncan Arthur’s attempt at a handshake  a gesture typically symbolizing civility or reconciliation.

The moment, though brief, did not go unnoticed by the audience.

Daniel Leinhardt, a respected crypto journalist and himself a victim of the OneCoin scam, shared his thoughts on the BehindMLM website.

I saw where Bjorn refused to handshake Duncan Arthur. I think it was to imply that however much he says and proves, Bjorn still listens but does not fully trust or believe him,”Daniel commented.

He further elaborated, “It must be hard for people to believe Duncan Arthur. The fact that he is exposing his former bosses to escape prison, it must be a very difficult situation.”

Duncan Arthur Responds

Not one to shy away from controversy, Duncan Arthur reacted to these public remarks.

From his current base in South Africa, he brushed off the criticism with characteristic bluntness.

Daniel, I really don’t care what anyone thinks of me. The authorities don’t care about me. I am back in South Africa and the whole thing has really driven my legal practice,” Duncan stated.

Despite the scrutiny, Duncan maintains that his inside knowledge makes him an invaluable source on the inner workings of OneCoin and its elusive founder, Ruja Ignatova.

However, his deep involvement in the scam as a senior figure and his public association with top OneCoin leaders have left his reputation severely tarnished.

To many victims and critics, he is seen less as a whistleblower and more as a beneficiary of the fraudulent scheme.

Interestingly, Duncan positions himself as a victim too  a stance that remains controversial within the OneCoin survivor community.

Clashing Narratives About Ruja Ignatova and Bjorn Bjercke

One of the key points of disagreement between Duncan Arthur and Bjorn Bjercke lies in how much Ruja Ignatova actually knew about Bjorn, the blockchain expert who famously refused to build OneCoin’s supposed blockchain back in 2016 after realizing the operation was fraudulent.

Duncan has repeatedly insisted that Ruja did not personally know Bjorn Bjercke. “She knew about Bjorn Bjercke because I had to keep reminding her. She had her haters, and she knew of them mostly as a collective,” Duncan claimed with a comment.

According to Duncan, Ruja was far more preoccupied with figures such as Tim Tyshun, CryptoXpose, Ari Widell, a Mirror journalist, and a few other vocal critics from Finland and Bulgaria who frequently wrote about her and the scam.

This account, however, appears at odds with the documentary’s narrative and Bjorn’s own experiences.

Bjorn has previously described how OneCoin’s leadership attempted to recruit him to build a fake blockchain system, further suggesting that he was directly known to, or at least specifically targeted by, the top brass within OneCoin.

A Relationship Marked by Distrust

What remains clear is that there is lingering animosity or at the very least, deep mistrust  between Duncan Arthur and Bjorn Bjercke.

The tension captured in Lie to Me reflects a broader struggle within the OneCoin aftermath: the battle over truth, accountability, and the right to tell the story of one of the crypto world’s darkest chapters.

As more voices come forward and conflicting accounts continue to surface, the community remains eager for clarity.

Will Duncan Arthur manage to regain public trust? Can his insider knowledge be separated from his past complicity?

And will Bjorn Bjercke’s refusal to reconcile with former insiders serve as a symbolic stand for OneCoin’s thousands of victims worldwide?

For now, these questions linger unanswered. But rest assured  as more developments emerge, we’ll be here to follow them.
